There are few things worse than showing condos to prospective buyers on a hot day, when in a condo complex whose addressing/numbering scheme was devised by a mad person (which seems to be most of them!). It's a lot of walking back/forth and trying to figure out a method to their madness -- and most listings don't have a good description of how to actually locate the condo within the complex once you're parked at guest parking. Some have a map at the entrance to the community, but it is generally oriented 90 degrees from how the community is actually laid out, furthering the confusion.
Here's where this simple, but ingenious, app saves the day. The creators of the app have divided the entire world into 10'X10' squares, and each square has a unique 3-word identifier. If the listing agent uses the app, they can post the 3 words closest to the front door of the condo making it incredibly easy to find, assuming that you are using the app as well. You can even direct your favorite GPS app to give you directions directly to the 10'X10' square (it simply converts it to latitude and longitude for the directions app). Or, prior to leaving one's office to show a condo, you can locate it on a map that includes unit addresses, and then determine the 3-word identifier by comparing it with the map within the app (What3Words is the name of the app -- available for iOS or Android, or at view at www.What3Words.com). When showing the property, fire up the app and it will take you directly to your desired location.
Need to find someone at the beach, Disneyland, mall, camping, or other event spread out over a large area? Simply let them know your 3-word location, and if they also have the app (best to coordinate in advance) you can easily find one another. Give it a try - it's a great concept!
